JAT Messenger
Getting started

How JAT Messenger will work

A simple user journey designed to make worldwide internet communication accessible.

From registration to your first call

1

Sign in securely

The planned first version uses Google Sign-In and Cloudflare D1 authentication; no phone number is required.

2

Choose your display name

Use your actual name in any supported writing system. Multiple people can have the same name.

3

Receive a permanent JAT ID

The backend automatically assigns an immutable ID. A memorable unique username is optional, not mandatory.

4

Find or invite friends

Search for their JAT ID or optional username, or send an invite link and wait for acceptance.

5

Chat privately

The planned messaging engine stores conversation data behind account and membership checks.

6

Make a voice call

Open a contact, tap Call, and allow microphone access. Both parties need an active internet connection.

7

Handle interruptions

The planned calling engine will monitor connectivity and attempt a controlled reconnect where possible.

8

Manage privacy and safety

Block/report users, manage contact requests, and request account deletion.

Browser notification reality

If the site is open, we can play a ringtone subject to browser audio permissions. When closed, supported browser push notifications can alert the user, but continuous native-style ringing cannot be guaranteed.

What you need

A supported modern browser, internet access, a microphone for calls, and permission for notifications if you wish to receive them.
